Welcome to the Calcivis Clinical Training Video

We are excited to have you on board!

Introduction

1. Reconstituting the Photoprotein

The video shows you how to reconstitute the photoprotein.  Once this is completed, it remains in the chiller unit for 14 days and provides imaging for 12 patients.

2. Setting Up & Decontamination

This video demonstrates how to load the photoprotein, set it up for use and how to decontaminate after use.

3. Tooth Selection

The Calcivis Imaging System is set up to deliver 5 images per patient, and this video walks you through considerations on tooth selection.  We have suggestions on getting started and suggestions as Calcivis becomes part of your clinical workflow.

4. Preparing the Tooth

This video shows how to ensure high-quality images.

  1. Clean and remove biofilm by dry brushing, prophy or washing with a cotton pellet.
  2. Dry the tooth following a 5-second air drying protocol.
  3. Avoid light contamination by moving the overhead light.

5. Using the Device Control Pad

This video walks you through how to control the software from the handset controls, thus improving efficiency and reducing cross-contamination.

Clinical Assessments, Interpreting Images and Clinical Decision Making

1. Guide to Staging Lesions

To support your prevention and/or treatment decision-making, it is essential to determine the stage of the lesion, and we are sharing two tools for you to do so: ICDAS & ADA CCS.

2. Interpreting the Images

This video walks you through the 3 images and how to read and interpret them:

  • Black and White Image
  • Bioluminescent Image
  • Blended image

3. Decision Making

In this video, we walk you through some examples of images and prevention and treatment pathways based on utilising:

  • ICDAS/ADA CCS
  • Patient's Caries Risk
  • Activity Status
